| Description
| - Prospective clinical study of the mutual interactions and particular role of fundamental lipid related atherogenic mechanisms in patients with severe hypercholesterolemia treated by low density lipoprotein apheresis. Project will investigate changes and correlation of the i) cholesterol biosynthetic pathway and its intermediary products, metabolism and absorption, ii) plasma and cell membrane unsaturated and saturated fatty acids. Futher examination will focus on iii) lipoperoxidation processes and antioxidant consumption. The results might improve our knowledge and thus treatment of atherosclerosis, which is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Czech Republic. Prospective clinical study of the mutual interactions and particular role of endothelial dysfunction and disorders of lipid metabolism in atherogenesis in patients with diabetes mellitus type II.

- Prospektivní klinická studie vzájemné interakce a úlohy nejdůležitějších lipidových aterogenních mechanismů u pacientů se závažnou hypercholesterolémií, léčených LDL (low density lipoprotein) aferézou. Projekt, který navazuje na předchozí výsledky řešitelského týmu, bude zkoumat změny a korelace následujících parametrů: i) biosyntéza cholesterolu a jeho intermediárních produktů. Další analýza bude hodnotit ii) nenasycené a nasycené mastné kyseliny v plasmě a buněčné membráně, iii) průběh lipoperoxidace a konsumpce antioxidantů. Získané poznatky mohou přispět k objasnění a tím i k léčbě procesu aterosklerózy, která je nejčastější příčinou morbidity a mortality v České republice.Prospektivní klinická studie vzájemné vazby a úlohy endoteliální dysfunkce, poruch metabolismu lipidů v procesu aterogeneze u pacientů s diabetem mellitem II. typu.
