  • Studies showed that stimulant drugs that affect the monoaminergic system alter both behavioral and cognitive processes. The aim of the present study was to investigate the impact of prenatal and acute methamphetamine (MA) exposure on cognitive functions of adult male rats tested in Morris water maze (MWM). We tested adult male rats prenatally exposed to MA (5 mg/kg), saline or no injection. Half of the animals were injected daily with MA (1 mg/kg) after finishing the testing. All injections were administered subcutaneously. Three types of tests were used: (1) %22Place navigation test%22 (Learning), (2) %22Probe test%22 (Probe) and (3) %22Retention memory test%22 (Memory). Our results showed that prenatal MA exposure did not affect the test of learning and the Probe test. In the test of memory prenatally MA-exposed rats had lower latencies than animals prenatally exposed to saline. Further, acute MA administration increased the speed of swimming in all rats regardless of prenatal drug

  • Cílem práce bylo otestovat vliv prenatální expozice a akutní aplikace metamfetaminu (MA) na učení a paměť v Morrisově vodním bludišti (MWM). Pro testování učení a paměti jsme použili tři typy testů v MWM: test učení (%22Place navigation test%22), %22probe test%22, a test paměti (%22Retention memory test%22). Zjistili jsme, že prenatální expozice MA neměla signifikantní vliv na test učení, a %22probe test%22. V testu paměti dosahovala zvířata prenatálně exponovaná MA lepších výsledků v porovnání s kontrolami: Všechna zvířata prenatálně exponovaná MA, bez ohledu na akutní aplikaci drogy, měla kratší latence dosažení ostrůvku a nižší %22search error%22 než kontroly a zvířata prenatálně exponovaná FR. Akutní aplikace MA zhoršuje učení a zvyšuje rychlost plavání. Zvířata prenatálně exponovaná MA jsou citlivější na akutní dávku MA v dospělosti, což potvrzuje naší hypotézu. (cs)
