| - The vasa vasorum of skeletonized and nonskeletonized segments of five human great saphenous veins (GSVs), harvested during coronary bypass grafting, were cannulated, rinsed, and injected (casted) with the polymerizing resin Mercox-C1-2B. After removal of the dry vascular tissue, the casts were examined using scanning electron microscopy. Stereopaired images (tilt angle, 6degrees) were taken, imported into a 3D morphometry system, and the 3D architecture of the vasa vasorum (arterial and venous vasa as well as capillaries) was studied qualitatively and quantitatively in terms of vasa diameters, intervascular and interbranching distances, and branching angles. Diameters of parent (d(0)) and large (d(1)) and small (d(2)) daughter vessels of arterial and venous bifurcations served to calculate asymmetry ratios (alpha) and area ratios (beta). - Vasa vasorum skeletonizovaných a neskeletonizovaných úseků, odebraných z pěti různých lidských velkých skrytých žil (vena saphena magna) během odebírání štěpů pro přemostění na věnčitých tepnách, byla kanylována, propláchnuta a nastříknuta polymerem pryskyřice Mercox-C1-2B. Po odstranění tkáně byly odlitky řečiště zkoumány v řádkovacím elektronovém mikroskopu. Stereopárové obrazy (pod úhlem 6 stupňů) byly převedeny do trojrozměrného morfometrického systému a trojrozměrná úprava řečiště vasa vasorum byla studována jak kvalitativně, tak kvantitativně (průsvit cév, vzdálenosti mezi cévami a odstupy jejich větví a úhly větvení). Průsvity mateřských (d(0)) a velkých (d(1)) a malých (d(2)) dceřiných cév jak tepenných, ta žilních větvení sloužily k vypočítaní poměru nesouměrnosti (alfa) a poměru plochy (beta). Navíc, odchylky větvení a úhlů větvení od nejvýhodnějších větví byly vypočítány pro některé vybrané vasa vasorum. Úprava řečiště vasa vasorum úzce sledovala podélně směřující vlákna pojivové tkáně v tu (cs)
