Description	V článku je podán přehled rizikových faktorů u hypertenze a vhodných indikací fi xní kombinační léčby telmisartanem a hydrochlorothiazidem. Jsou uvedeny velké, multicentrické klinické studie, které prokázaly účinnost i bezpečnost telmisartanu u rizikových nemocných s hypertenzí, a dále metaanalýzy léčby buď samotným telmisartanem (TELMI), nebo v kombinaci s hydrochlorothiazidem (HCTZ), které ukazují, že jde o velmi dobře tolerovanou, bezpečnou léčbu u pacientů v širokém věkovém rozmezí. V článku je podán přehled rizikových faktorů u hypertenze a vhodných indikací fi xní kombinační léčby telmisartanem a hydrochlorothiazidem. (cs) The article gives an overview of the risk factors for hypertension and the appropriate indication for using a fi xed combination of telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide. It cites large, multi-centre clinical trials that demonstrate the effi cacy and safety of telmisartan in patients with hypertension and also a meta-analysis of treatment with either telmisartan alone (TELMI) or in combination with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) which shows that it is a very well tolerated and safe treatment for patients across a wide age range.
