Description	The paper describes a case of disseminated infection caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. hominissuis in two sibling Fjord horses. Due to deteriorating health status both horses were euthanized. M. a. hominissuis infection was proved to be the cause of their conditions using quantitative real time PCR and large amounts of mycobacteria cells were detected in examined tissues of one of the horses. Pathoanathomic lesions found in both horses during necropsy examinations are described in detail.
