| Description
| - Široké rozšíření salmonelových infekcí ve sledovaných plemenných a užitkových chovech prasat bylo demonstrováno kultivací a sérologickým testem ELISA. V chovech prasnic byl nejčastěji izolovaným sérotypem S. Derby. U odstávčat byl nejčastějším sérotypem S. Typhimurium fágového typu DT104, dále následovaly S. Derby a S. Infantis. U poražených výkrmových prasat byla nejčastěji izolována S. Typhimurium DT104. Nebyla zjištěna korelace mezi séroprevalencí a izolací salmonel. Prasnice, které vylučují salmonely trusem, představují vysoké riziko pro přenos infekce na selata a dále do výkrmu prasat. Program pro tlumení salmonel v chovech prasat je proto nutné zahájit na úrovni prasnic a tím omezit šíření infekce v potravním řetězci. (cs)

Derby was the most frequently found serotype isolated in the farrowing sections. In weaners, the most often isolated serotype was S. Typhimurium phage type DT104, followed by S. Derby and S. Infantis. In slaughtered fattening pigs the most often isolated serovar was S. Typhimurium DT104. No correlation was found between seroprevalence and Salmonella isolation. Sows which are shedding Salmonella through faeces represent a high risk for transmission of the infection to piglets and further to pig fattening. Therefore the programme for Salmonella control should be initiated on sow level to reduce spread of the infection into the food chain.
