| - Odpadní polystyrenová pěna byla sulfonací převedena na polymerní flokulanty (NaEPSS). Produkty s danou molekulovou hmotností a daným počtem sulfonových skupin na monomer byly v 0,5 M vodném NaOH jako rozpouštědle rozdělěny frakčním srážením s 2-propanolem na několik frakcí. Rozdíly v molekulové hmotnosti frakcí NaEPSS byly testovány gelovou permeační chromatografií (GPC), dynamickým rozptylem světla (DLS) a viskozimetricky. Změny molekulové hmotnosti mohou být výsledkem vedlejších reakcí běžících současně se sulfonací a nerovnoměrného průběhu frakcionace. (cs)
- Waste polystyrene foam (EPS) was converted into polymeric flocculants (NaEPSS) by sulfonation. Products with determined molecular weight and number of sulphonic group per monomer unit were divided into several fractions by fractional precipitation with 0.5 M aqueous NaOH as the solvent and 2-propanol as the precipitant. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and viscosimetry studies of the polyelectrolytes were performed for testing the changes of the molecular weights for the fractions of the NaEPSS. The changes in molecular weights may be the result of side reactions occurring during the sulphonation process and of the irregular course of the fractionation process.
