| - The aim of the work was to study a potential relationship between acrosome response characteristics of bovine spermatozoa and their ability to fertilize oocytes and produce in vitro embryos. Sperm of AI bulls with a high (group A) or a low rate ( group B) of embryos were used. For acrosome assessment, motile spermatozoa from Percoll gradient were incubated with or without heparin and examined by the fix-vital sperm assay. According to the kinetics of heparin response, the bulls fell into three categories: with fast (FR), moderate (MR) or slow (SR) acrosome responses. Five MR bulls were found in group A in comparison with two MR bulls in group B. Intensity of acrosome response was significantly higher in bull group A compared with bull group B. A positive correlation was recorded between acrosome response intensity and embryo rate. The kinetics of spermatozoa response to heparin and its intensity may be important for in vitro fertilization and embryo production.

- Cílem práce bylo studovat potenciální vztah mezi charakterem akrozomální reakce bovinních spermií a jejich schopností fertilizovat oocyty a produkovat in vitro embrya .Byly použity spermie býků s vysokou (skupina A) nebo nízkou (skupina B) produkcí embryí. Pro hodnocení akrozomu byly motilní spermie izolovány na gradientu Percollu, inkubovány jak v přítomnosti tak i bez přítomnosti heparinu a vyšetřeny metodou fix vital-sperm assay. Podle kinetiky odezvy na heparin se býci rozdělili do tří skupin: s rychlou (FR), středně rychlou (MR) a pomalou (SR) akrozomální reakcí. Ve skupině A bylo nalezeno signifikantně více býků se středně rychlou reakcí na heparin ve srovnání se skupinou B. Pozitivní korelace byla zjištěna také mezi intenzitou akrozomální reakce spermií a produkcí embryí. Kinetika odezvy spermií na heparin a její intenzita mohou být významné pro in vitro fertilizaci a produkci embryí. (cs)
