Description	In this brief research there has been analysed the ratio of diet compounds of Cucujus cinnaberinus using the gut content analysis of larvae and adults collected in early spring 2007. There have been found no difference between the diet of both larvae and adults. Since this was a brief study, C. cinnaberinus seems to be an opportunistic omnivore, which feeds on various types of organic debris such as wood and phloem debris, often together with co-occurring filamentous fungi and various invertebrates. The observations contradict the assumptions of some authors, who considered this species to be an obligate predator.
