  • Water movement and root uptake in a drip-irrigated potato field were studied by field experiments and numerical simulations, using summary results of an EU project. Measurements of soil suction and weather conditions made it possible to derive improved parameters for the dual permeability model S1D DUAL. A reasonable agreement between the measured and the estimated soil hydraulic properties was obtained. The measured root zone depths were near to those obtained by inverse simulation and to a boundary curve approximation. The measured and simulated pressure heads were comparable with those achieved by the Daisy model. During dry spells, the measured pressure heads were higher than the simulated ones. In general, the former oscillated between the simulated values for matrix and those for the preferential flow domain. Irrigation facilitated deep seepage after rain. Several parallel soil moisture sensors are needed for irrigation control. The sensors cannot detect the time when to stop the irrigation.

  • Pohyb vody a odběr kořeny na pozemku s bramborami zavlažovanými kapkovou závlahou byl studován polními pokusy a numerickými simulacemi s použitím souhrnných výsledků projektu EU. Měření sacího tlaku a počasí umožnilo odvodit zpřesněné parametry pro model dvojné propustnosti S1D DUAL. Bylo dosaženo uspokojivé shody mezi měřenými a odvozenými hydraulickými parametry půdy. Měřené hloubky kořenové zóny byly blízké hodnotám získaným inversní simulací nebo z aproximační obalové křivky. Tlakové výšky měřené i simulované pomocí S1D DUAL byly srovnatelné se simulacemi pomocí modelu Daisy. V suchém období byly měřené tlakové výšky vyšší než simulované. Obecně oscilovaly měřené tlakové výšky mezi simulovanými hodnotami pro matrici a pro zónu preferenčního proudění. Závlaha usnadňovala hluboký průsak po dešti. Pro řízení závlahy je třeba několika paralelních čidel půdní vláhy. Čidla nemohou indikovat čas, kdy je třeba ukončit závlahu. (cs)
