Description
  • Composting is an important tool in waste management and its importance increases in connection with an effective disposal of biodegradable matter. Compost application in a field also leads to soil organic matter increase. Organic matter influences positively soil fertility, improves soil aggregate stability and soil structure. On the basis of literature sources it is possible to expect a positive and long time influence on water infiltration into soil as well. Soil infiltration ability is one of the key factors of soil protection against unfavourable water erosion effects. The different technologies of soil tillage lead to soil properties changes and different soil infiltration ability within long-time period. The results proved differences in layering of soil organic matter depending on the soil tillage treatment. According to values of water infiltration it is possible to observe that the water infiltration increases with the compost application rate.
