Description	The growth curves of young bulls tested at performance-test stations were spread out into genetic, animal’s permanent environment, and residual components. Heritability of body weight was on a moderate level and quite steady. The tested statistical models showed only small differences in describing the variability and population genetic parameters. The number of parameters in the random regression function is more important than the type of function. For traits such as live weight, in which the different stages are highly correlated, it is suitable to use Linear Spline function for random effects. (en) Růstové křivky mladých býků testovaných v odchovnách byly rozloženy na složku genetickou, trvalého prostředí jedince a reziduální. Dědivost tělesné hmotnosti byla na střední úrovni a poměrně stejnoměrná. Pomocí testovaných statistických modelů byly získány podobné výsledky při popisu proměnlivosti a populačně-genetikých parametrů. Počet parametrů u funkcí náhodné regrese je důležitější než typ funkce. U vlastností, jako je živá hmotnost, u kterých jsou jednotlivá období vysoce korelována, je vhodné používat pro náhodné efekty metody lineárního splinu. Při popisu růstu býků lze doporučit využití funkcí náhodné regrese s nejméně třemi parametry. Při odhadu genetických parametrů hraje roli úprava souboru před zpracováním. (cs)
