  • Pozitivní efekt alely B genu ESR na velikost vrhu byl zjištěn ve třech velkých studiích u plemene Large White nebo jeho syntetických linií Rotschildem et al. (1995, 1996). a Shortem et al. (1997). Odlišné výsledky ve prospěch alely A (pozitivní vliv na velikost vrhu) byly zjištěny v předložené studii, která analyzovala 3597 vrhů od 1030 prasnic plemene Large White. V souladu s literaturou nebyl zjištěn žádný efekt dominance genu ESR na veleikost vrhu. Z výsledků lze vyvodit, že efekt genu ESR závisí napopulaci. Proto se nedoporučuje přenášet výsledky výzkumů o vlivu genu ESR z literatury do šlechtitelských programů jiných populací. Nejlepší by bylo mapovat všechna testovaná zvířata a zahrnout efekt genu ESR do víceznakového animal modelu. Selekční index zahrnující plemennou hodnotu všech znaků a efekt genu ESR zajistí minimální možné negativní vlivy, které by se mohly objevit při selekci pouze podle tohoto markeru. (cs)

(1995, 1996) and Short et al. (1997). In contradiction to these results, allele A wasfavourable for litter size in the present study analyzing 3597 litters from 1030 Large White sows. In agreement with literature data, no dominance effect of the ESR gene on litter size was detected. It was concluded that the ESR effect on litter size depends on the population. Therefore it is not recommended to take over ESR effects for breeding programs from the literature. The best way would be to genotype all animals which are performance tested and to integrate the ESR effect in a multi-trait animal model. This will ensure that the ESR effect is always estimated for the population under selection.
