Description
| - Three data sets (56 842, 94 945 and 53 507 first, 30 045, 49 273 and 26 577 second, 15 433, 24 716 and 12 984 third lactations) were used for the estimation of genetic parameters for production traits of the Holstein breed in the Czech Republic. The analyses were carried out separately for milk, fat and protein yield using three-trait animal models considering the three lactations as three traits. The coefficients of heritability were in the rANGe 0.30-0.33, 0.26-0.29, 0.29-0.32 for milk yield, 0.24-0.28, 0.24-0.26, 0.24-0.27 for fat yield, 0.23-0.29, 0.22-0.27, 0.25-0.29 for protein yield in the first, second and third lactation, respectively. The genetic correlations were: 0.92-0.95, 0.86-0.95, 0.98-1.00 for milk, 0.92-0.95, 0.89-0.92, 0.98-0.99 for fat, 0.92-0.94, 0.86-0.94 and 0.98-1.00 for protein between the 1st and 2nd, the 1st and 3rd and the 2nd and 3rd lactations, respectively.
