Description
  • The production of biogas, including landfill gas in the Czech Republic has developed mainly degassing and municipal waste landfill stabilization of sewage sludge in wastewater treatment plants. This potential is mostly exhausted (about 80 %). The highest potential is in the processing of agricultural renewable raw materials, animal feces, and plant biomass. In the past biodegradable wastes were processed in the biogas cofermentation with animal faeces. New regulations concerning the operation of biogas plants, energy prices and digestate treatment, favoring biogas plants which will process the biological waste. In particular, it is kitchen waste, including cooking oil, especially from canteens and restaurants. Further it is green grass, stillage, waste from biodiesel production, solid waste from the food industry etc. It must be assumed that the available potential of biogas from biowaste shall not exceed 220 GWh and an installed capacity of 28 MWe. It can be considered to have approximately 125 BPS.
