Description	The insecticidal activity of 34 essential oils, extracted from plants, was screened against the house fly, Musca domestica L. under laboratory conditions. Essential oils from Pogostemon cablin proved to be the most efficient at a lethal dose of 3 µg/fly after topical application. It is apparent from the results of this research that essential oils made of Pogostemon cablin offer a high potential for production of new insekticides safe for the environment and for human health. Nejůčinnější byl olej získaný z Pogostemon cabil, kdy byla zjištěna letální dávka 3 µg/mouchu v topikální aplikci. Navrhujeme, že esence na bázi rostliny Pogostemon cablin mají vysoký potenciál pro výrobu environmentálně a zdravotně bezpečných rostlinných insekticidů. (cs)
