| - Summary In the Czech Republic twelve institutions collaborating in the National Programme maintain in collections about 49 thousand of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (PGRFA). The collections are fully documented regarding passport information and evaluation data are available in more than 70 % accessions. Efforts are aimed at deeper study and characterization of PGRFA to enhance their utilization. Over 90% of seed—propagated collections are safely maintained in the gene bank, vegetatively propagated species are conserved in field gene banks or %22in vitro%22; cryo-bank started its work, as well. Annually, 2-4 thousands ofPGRFA are provided to local and foreign users, under terms of national legislation and International Treaty on PGRFA. Open access is provided to 36 347 accessions (that is 74.4 %) and another 9003 accessions (18. 4 %) can be provided to users with donors' approval (e.g. breeders' lines, experimental lines).

- Dvanáct institucí v České republice je zapojeno do řešení Národního programu a v kolekcích uchovává přes 49 tis. položek genetických zdrojů zemědělských plodin. U kolekcí jsou plně zdokumentována pasportní data, popisná data jsou k dispozici u více než 70 % položek. Značné úsilí je věnováno hlubšímu studiu a charakterizaci genetických zdrojů s cílem zvýšit jejich využití. Přes 90% semeny množených GZ v kolekcích je bezpečně uloženo v genové bance; kolekce vegetativně množených druhů se uchovávají v polních genových bankách , popř. v %22in vitro%22 kultuře. Provoz zahájila rovněž kryobanka. Každoročně je domácím a zahraničním uživatelům bezplatně předáváno 2-4 tisíce vzorků, v souladu s domácí legislativou a mezinárodními dohodami (IT/PGRFA, CBD). (cs)
