Description
  • The effect of different grazing intensity on weed control under conditions of organic farming was studied after imposing different grazing management on abandoned seminatural grassland in the Czech Republic. We established the following treatments: unmanaged control (U), intensive (IG) and extensive (EG) continuous grazing, lstut followed by intensive (ICG) and extensive continuous grazing (ECG) for the rest of the vegetation season. Galium album and Aegopodium podagraria increased in the unmanaged control and both extensively (EG, ECG) grazed plots during the run of the experiment. On the other hand, Taraxacum spp. sporadically occurred in unmanaged plots. Delay in the first defoliation under both (ECG, ICG) cut treatments resulted in rise of Taraxacum spp. The results demonstrate that not only grazing itself but also different grazing intensities alter the composition of weedy vegetation in grasslands.

  • Vliv rozdílné intenzity pastvy na regulaci plevelů v podmínkách ekologického zemědělství byl studován na opuštěné louce v Jizerských horách. Galium album and Aegopodium podagraria měly největší zastoupení na neobhospodařované ploše a extenzivně pasených plochách. Na druhou stranu se zde Taraxacum spp. vyskytovala v malém množství. Zpožděná defoliace v nejdříve sečených plochách zvýšila pokryvnost Taraxacum spp. Výsledky ukazují, že nejenom pastva samotná, ale i její intenzita mění složení plevelové vegetace travních porostů.
