  • Význam síry (S) pro využití dusíku (N) pro růst rostlin a v resistenci rostlin k mšicím byly studovány na cukrovce (Beta vulgaris, L.) napadené mšicí makovou (Aphis fabae). Rostliny byly pěstovány v konstantních podmínkách na půdě dobře zásobené živinami. N a S byly aplikovány do půdy před setím ve formě dusičnanu amonného a síranu sodného, resp., v dávkách 0,1 a 0,2 g/kg v několika kombinacích. Mšice byly vysazeny na třítýdenní rostliny. Jak S tak N stimulovaly růst rostlin, jejich efekt byl ale významně zvýšen při současné aplikaci. Mšice na rostlinách přihnojených N se rychleji množily. Přídavek S snižoval stimulační efekt dusíku na napadení rostlin. Síra v koncentraci odpovídající nejlepšímu využití N pro růst rostlin byla optimální pro rezistenci rostlin. Nejen snížení obsahu volných aminokyselin v potravě mšic, ale také vyšší obsah antioxidantu glutathionu v rostlinách s vyrovnanou N a S výživou může být příčinou zvýšené rezistence rostlin k mšicím (cs)
  • The importance of sulfur (S) nutrition for utilization of nitrogen (N) by plant for their growth and the role of S in resistance of plants to aphids were studied in sugar beet (Beta vulgaris, L.) infested with black bean aphids (Aphis fabae). Plants were grown at constant cultivation conditions on soil well supplied with nutrients. N and S were applied into the soil before sawing in the form of ammonium nitrate and sodium sulfate resp. in doses 0,1 and 0,2 g /kg dry soil in several combinations. 3 weeks old plants were treated with aphids. Both N and S stimulated plant growth, but their effects were significantly increased when applied simultaneously. Aphids feeding on plants fertilized only with nitrogen reproduced significantly more quickly. Sulfur supplement decreased the stimulatory effect of N on plant infestation.
