  • Mezidruhové a vnitrodruhové rozdíly v příjmu nitrátů a distribuci N byly hodnoceny u mladých rostlin pšenice. Dva desetičlenné soubory odrůd pšenice T. aestivum a T. durum byly pěstovány v kontrolovaných podmínkách v živném roztoku s obsahem 0,773 molů NO3-/l. Ve stáří 3 týdnů byla stanovena rychlost (vyjádřená v mikromolech NO3- přijatých 1 g čerstvých kořenů za hodinu) a kapacita příjmu nitrátů (vyjádřená v mikromolech NO3- přijatých rostlinou za hodinu), suchá hmotnost rostlin a celkový obsah dusíku v kořenech a listech. Na rozdíl od rychlosti příjmu (3, 98 – 8,57 mikromolů NO3-/g koř./hod.) se celková příjmová kapacita kořenového systému odrůd T. aestivum (6,37 – 11,66 mikromolů NO3-/rostl./hod.) významně lišila od hodnot zjištěných pro T. durum (15,26 - 22,69 mikromolů NO3-/rostl./hod.). Uvnitř souboru T. aestivum nejnižší hodnoty obou ukazatelů vykazovala slabě rostoucí odrůda ’Roxo’(3,98 µmol NO3-/g koř./hod. a 6,67 µmol NO3-/rost./hod.).   • Inter- and intra-species differences in nitrate uptake and N allocation were studied in wheat seedlings. Two collections of wheat cultivars Triticum aestivum and Triticum durum were grown at controlled conditions in hydroponics (0.773 mol NO3-/l). At the age of 3 weeks the net rate of nitrate uptake was measured in depletion experiments and it was expressed as µmol NO3- per g of root fresh weight per hour (µmol/g FW/h). Nitrate uptake capacity of the whole root system was expressed as µmol NO3- per plant per hour (µmol/plant/h). At the same time wheat plants were harvested and analyzed for nitrogen content.
