Description
Brassica napus, Zea mays, Triticum aestivum, Pisum sativum and Linum usitatissimum odolných k herbicidům a hmyzím škůdcům. Příspěvek dává přehled přístupů, výsledků a závěrů. (cs)
  • Various issues associated with the development and use of genetically modified (GM) crops in the Czech Republic (CR) prompted the evaluation of the concerns to generate data to develop proper legislation. Investigations are directed to the types of GM crops and traits that may be considered for future cultivation in CR, notably winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus), maize (Zea mays), wheat (Triticum aestivum), pea (Pisum sativum) and flax (Linum usitatissimum) and the traits herbicide tolerance and insect resistance. Evaluations include potential changes in crop productivity and their impact on field management, as well as the extent and impact of pollen flow between GM plants and traditional cultivars or related wild species. When relevant, non-GM plant material with dominant traits that could be easily assayed (e.g. flower colour) was used for research, rather than actual GM crop material. Research attention was particularly devoted to the influence of insect-resistant GM crops on non-target organis
