  • Vegetation experiments under controlled conditions of cultivation were conducted on a diverse set of 48 soils. Variants: A - control with NH4Cl application and B - response variant with (NH4)2SO4. Paired T-test reveled significant differences between the variant A and B in barley yield and concentrations of S, sulphate, nitrate, P and B in barley plants. The B-variant had higher yield of barley, higher concentration of S, sulphate, and B and lower concentrations of nitrate and P compared to variant A. A substantial decrease in nitrate concentration was related to better utilisation of plant nitrogen after the nutrient status of soil was adjusted with S. P-concentration in barley markedly decreased to the lower level in variant B. Higher B-concentration in barley could potentially be related to the depression of P-uptake after sulphate application.

  • Vegetační experimenty se souborem 48 půd v klimaboxu. Varianty: A - kontrolní s aplikací NH4Cl a B - odezvová s aplikací (NH4)2SO4.Sušina nadzemní hmoty ječmene byla analyzována na N, dusičnany, S, sírany, P, K, Mg, Ca, Na, Mn a B. Párovým testem byly zjištěny významné rozdíly mezi variantou A a B ve výnosu ječmene, koncentrací S, SO4, NO3, P a B v ječmenu. Varianta B vykazovala větší výnos ječmene, větší koncentraci S, síranu a bóru a nižší dusičnanu a fosforu oproti variantě A. Pokles koncentrace dusičnanu byl spojen s lepší utilizací dusíku v rostlině po korekci výživného stavu půdy sírou. Koncentrace P v ječmenu dobře korespondovala se zásobou labilního P v půdě, avšak při výrazném posunu koncentrace fosforu v ječmenu na nižší úroveň ve variantě B. Vyšší koncentrace B v ječmenu by mohla souviset s depresí příjmu fosforu po aplikaci síranu. (cs)
