Description	Railway junctions are a significant source of origin and spread of resistant weeds. Ten weed biotypes resistant to atrazine and a Kochia scoparia biotype with resistance to acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitors were found at railway junctions from 1995to 2003. The most widespread weeds at railways from 1995 to 2003 are presented. There was found that the resistance to atrazine in 6 weed biotypes was conferred by a mutation at codon 264 of the psbA gene and resistance of the kochia biotype to ALS inhibitors was conferred by a mutation at codon 574 of the ALS gene.
