| - The warm-climate pathogen Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. had never been reported from the Czech Republic before 1999. In that year and in 2000 and 2001, it was quite common on sunflower in the Žatec region, but in other regions it was found only in two fields in 2001. Žatec is the warmest and driest region of the Czech Republic. Local meteorologic records show that temperatures during the summer months of 1999-2001 were up to 2°C and above higher than the average of 1961-90. The hydrothermic coefficient (according to Seljaninov) was often far below %221%22, indicating severe water stress of plants. A comparison with areas of the Balkan revealed that weather conditions at Žatec were at least as suitable for the pathogen as in regions where the pathogen occurs commonly. Thus, temperature adaptation of the pathogen was not needed for its occurrence in the Žatec region. Yield risk, pathogen survival in the soil and possible control are discussed.

- Patogen Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. nebyl před rokem 1999 zaznamenán v České republice. V letech 1999-2001 se běžně vyskytoval v oblasti Žatecka, ale jinde (na dvou lokalitách) byl zaznamenán v roce 2001. Žatecko je nejteplejší a nejsušší oblastí ČR. Meteorologické záznamy prokázaly, že průměrná teplota v letních měsících v letech 1999-2001 byla o 2°C vyšší než dlouhodobý průměr (1961-1990). Hydrotermických koeficient byl často hluboko pod hodnotou 1, což značí vážný vodní stres pro rostliny.Srovnání prokázalo, že Žatec má stejně vhodné podmínky pro výskyt patogena jako Balkán, kde se patogen běžně vyskytuje. Tudíž pro výskyt patogena zde není nezbytná teplotní adaptace. Problematika ztráty výnosu, přežívání patogena a možná ochrana je dálerozvíjena. (cs)
