Description	The influence of different terms of clover ploughing-in on nitrogen production in soil was studied in field trial. The highest amount of nitrates in soil in November was always found after soil sharing and consequent ploughing at the beginning of September. Omitting of sharing or shift of ploughing to a later term caused a decrease in nitrate production during autumn. With early ploughing and high nitrate content in autumn the highest losses by leaching during winter were observed. It resulted in a similar supply of available N in soil of all variants at the beginning of spring vegetation. At convenient conditions, a higher portion of available N in soil ploughed in Nivember or March resulted in higher yields of corn in comparison with variants ploughed earlier.
