Description
| - The project deals with breeding of more important winter crops (wheat, barley, and rapeseed) for resistance to dominant abiotic stresses occurring in our changing climatic conditions - frost, winter stresses and drought. The aims and outputs are following: 1/ use of in vitro selection method of resistant wheat and barley lines, 2/ the effectiveness of gliadin signal genes of winter resistance in wheat, 3/ use of dihaploids for marker selection of wheat resistance to abiotic stresses, 4/ evaluation of resistant cereals on the basis of abscisic acid level in plants, 5/ direct methods for evaluation and selection of frost resistant rapeseed cultivars and breeding lines. The results will be: to obtain at least 15 lines of wheat, barley and rapeseed with higher resistance to studied abiotic stresses by means of new molecular-genetic approaches and to establish new methods (in vitro selection, markers of resistance to abiotic stresses, direct and undirect tests of crop resistance) suitable for screening and (en)
