  • In field trials, the applicability of energy crops to remove hazardous elements from contaminated soil was examined. Four energy crops were tested. Soil contamination was modelled by sewage sludge application in doses 110 and 220 tof dry matter per hect ar. In additional treatments, soil acidification and chelate agent treatment was tested. The highest decontamination was observed with Reynoutria sachalinensis (Pc, Cr, Co, As, Hg, Mn). Sorghum %22hyso%22 removes specifically Cd and Zn, Malva meluca Ni and Rumex %22Uteusch%22 Cu and Fe.
