Description	The genus Eobigenerina (type species Bigenerina variabilis Vašíček, 1947) is re-described from a Cretaceous section in the Eastern Carpathians (Romania) and well material from the North Atlantic and western Barents Sea. The genus is defined by its biserial to uniserial chamber arrangement and is otherwise isomorphic to Bigenerina, differing in its solid, noncalcareous, silicified wall structure. Generic position of some other biserial cosmopolitan agglutinated taxa described previously from deep-water Cretaceous deposits is revised.
