Description
  • Maximální koncentrace As v odtoku z malých lesních povodí vzrostla dva až pětkrát mezi lety 1995 a 2006, a přibližuje se limitu pro pitnou vodu (10 mikrog L-1). Sestrojili jsme vstupní a výstupní hmotnostní bilance pro 3 znečištěné a 1 neznečištěné povodí, a vypočítali jsme velikost zásob As v půdě. 78% celkového As je geogenního původu. Dvě ze znečištěných povodí vykazovaly čistý odtok As z povodí(průměrně 4-5 g As ha-1 rok-1 pro 11 leté období; a až 28 g As ha-1 rok-1 v roce 2005). Tato zjištění kontrastují s výsledky předcházejících studií, které došly k závěru, že lesní povodí zadržují atmosférický arsen. Většina As se uvolňovala z humusu. (cs)
  • Maxima in As concentrations in runoff from four forest catchments have increased twice to five times between 1995 and 2006, and approach the drinking water limit (10 mikrog L-1). We constructed input/output mass balances for three polluted and one relatively unpolluted forest catchments in the Czech Republic, and evaluated the pool size of soil As. The observation period was 11 years, and the sites spanned a 6-fold As pollution gradient. Two of the polluted sites exhibit large net As export via runoff solutes (mean of 4-5 g As ha-1 yr-1 for the 11-year period; up to 28 g As ha-1 yr-1 in 2005). This contrasts with previous studies which concluded that forest catchments are a net sink for atmogenic arsenic. Total As soil pool size is over 78 % geogenic in origin. The amount of exported As correlates closely with water fluxes via runoff. Net arsenic release is caused by an interplay of hydrological conditions and retreating acidification. Most pollutant As may be released from humus.
