Description
  • The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate FDG-PET findings in the lungs of patients with Hodgkin lymphoma.16 of the 22 patients included in the study had a negative PET finding after the first course of chemotherapy, i.e. they were considered to be in a complete remission of the disease. PET and HRCT revealed postradiation pneumonitis in two patients. In two patients a progression appeared after the first course of chemotherapy, in accordance with PET findings the progression was outside the lungs. In other two patients a persistence of lung involvement was observed on PET after the initial chemotherapy. These patients are without any relaps. One of them underwent lung biopsy which confirmed postchemotherapeutic changes. Positive FDG-PET findings in the lung parenchyma are quite frequent after the initial chemotherapy in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma with initial involvement of the lungs (4/22), the majority is represented by benign postchemotherapeutic and postradiation changes

(cs)
