| - Introduction: Previous studies of patients with unipolar depression have shown that early decreases of EEG cordance (a new quantitative EEG method) can predict clinical response. We examined whether early QEEG decrease represents a phenomenon associated with response to treatment with different antidepressants in patients with treatment resistant depression. Method: The subjects were 17 inpatients with treatment resistant depression. EEG data and response to treatment were monitored at baseline and after 1 and 4 weeks on an antidepressant treatment. QEEG cordance was computed at 3 frontal electrodes in theta frequency band. The prefrontal cordance combines complementary information from absolute and relative power of EEG spectra. - Úvod: Předchozí studie u pacientů s unipolární depresí ukázaly, že časný pokles EEG kordance (nova metoda kvantitativního EEG) může predikovat klinickou odpověď. Zjišťovali jsme, zda časný pokles QEEG kordance representuje jev, který je asociován s odpovědí na různá antidepresiva u pacientů s rezistentní depresí. Metoda: Do hodnocení bylo zahrnuto 17 hospitalizovaných pacientů s rezistentní depresí. EEG vyšetření a hodnocení odpovědi na léčbu probíhaly na jejím zahájení, po 1. týdnu a po 4. týdnu léčby. QEEG kordance byla vypočítána z 3 frontálních elektrod pro frekvenční pásmo theta. Prefrontální kordance kombinuje související informace z absolutního a relativního výkonového EEG spektra. Současné studie ukazují, že kordance koreluje kortikální perfuzí. Depresivní symptomy byly hodnoceny pomocí Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS).
