Description
  • Behavioral effects of T3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA, ecstasy) are relatively well described in humans as well as in animals. However, little is known about gender differences to the effects of MDMA. The aim of our study was to evaluate gender differences in stimulant effects of MDMA (2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 mg/kg subcutaneously (s.c.)) in male and female Wistar rats. We have used three behavioral methods (activity cage, open field, and elevated plus-maze) each describing a different pattern of spontaneous behavior. In the activity cage, 30 min after the MDMA administration, horizontal and vertical locomotor activities were registered for a period of 3 min. In the open field test rats were placed into an arena 15 min after drug treatment and locomotor activity was registered for a period of 30 min. Finally, in the elevated plus-maze test, rats were given MDMA 30 min prior to measurements and subsequently they were tested in the maze for a period of 5 min. In our experiments we observed a dose-dep

Pomocí 3 různých behaviorálních metod (aktivitní klec, test otevřeného pole a test vyvýšeného křížového bludiště) jsme sledovali rozdílné parametry spontánního chování. V aktivitní kleci jsme 30 minut po podání MDMA hodnotili horizontální a vertikální lokomoční aktivitu po dobu 3 minut. V testu otevřeného pole byli potkani umístěni do arény 15 minut po podání drogy a lokomoční aktivitu jsme registrovali po dobu 30 minut. A nakonec, v testu vyvýšeného křížového bludišti byli potkani aplikováni MDMA 30 minut před začátkem měření a následně byli v bludišti hodnoceni po dobu 5 minut. V našich experimentech jsme pozorovali, že MDMA působí v závislosti na dávce zvýš (cs)
