Description	The preceding definitions of Poecilonotini are revised. Nesotrinchina is described and revised. A study of selected taxa of Poecilonotina. Ulaikoilia jelineki is described from Papua New Guinea. 4 new synonymies are proposed. Haplotrinchus marginefossus is removed from synonymy and restituted as a valid species. Nesotrinchus is removed from synonymy with Melobasina. A new substitute name is suggested: N. thomsoni for N. caeruleipennis. 6 lectotypes are designated. The genus Pseudhyperantha is transferred from Stigmoderini back to Buprestini. The following species are transferred to other genera: M. suturalis from Lamprodila; N. wallisii from Haplotrinchus; N. australicus, N. caeruleipennis and N. thomsoni from Melobasina.
