Description	The Ore Mountains are the proclaimed protected region with natural water accumulation and the main water source for neighbouring areas. These were the reasons why significant changes of vegetation cover and deposition of agents from polluted air have initiated the necessity to observe the influence of changes on water regime in landscape as well as on water quality including changes of water composition on its way from precipitation to water resources. As the long-term problem was land drainage, there was not given much attention to observing water balance of forest stands and water regime of their soils. But the solution was directed to problems connected with ensuring drinking and utility water for housing estates as well as for mines and industry in the exposed region of the Ore Mts. foothill. Also the problem of building and dimensions of objects for protection of Most and Sokolov brown-coal basins against possible increased flood flows was very important. (en) Krušné hory jsou prohlášeny za chráněnou oblast přirozené akumulace vod a za hlavní zdroj vody pro okolní oblasti. To byl důvod proč výrazné změny ve vegetačním krytu, způsobené vlivem činitelů ze znečištěného vzduchu, iniciovaly nutnost sledování vlivů těchto změn na vodní režim v krajině a také vliv na kvalitu vody včetně změn ve vodním složení na cestě mezi srážkami a vodním zdrojem. Dlouhodobým problémem bylo odvodňování půd, kde nebylo věnováno mnoho pozornosti sledování hydrologické bilance lesních porostů a vodního režimu lesních půd. Ale řešení bylo směrováno k problémům spojených se zajištěním pitné a užitkové vody pro obyvatelstvo a i pro doly a průmysl v oblasti podhůří Krušných hor. Velmi důležitý je také problém výstavby a návrhu protipovodňových objektů v sokolovsko mostecké hnědouhelné pánvi. (cs)
