Description	The ASLAB Centre for Assessing Qualification of Laboratories which works at the T.G.Masaryk Water Research Institute, Prague, specializes, above all, in inter-laboratory comparative testing. In 1999 it organized 16 analyses in the field of chemistry (1 560 participants) as well as 4 analyses in the field of biology (297 participants). These analyses are fully documented. Staff member of the Center have newly assessed thče performance of 33 laboratories, of which 22 were awarded the Cerfificate on Proper Laboratory Performance.
