Description
| - Blue spruce forest stand in the locality of Plochý (0.12 ha, 880 m a.s.l., NW slope to 5°, acidic spruce forest site type, 2.340 trees per ha, ca. 19 years old plantation) was hardly damaged by extremely snowy winter 2005 – 06. In 2006, all trees on the plot were measured (tree diameter at breast height, tree height retrospectively, upper crown height, crown dimensions in breast height and in upper crown height and branch increments), occurrence and type of damage and/or deformation was registered. Dependences between measured parameters and tree damage were probed. Due to winter damage, 26% of trees had broken crown, 2% had partially broken crow and 14% of trees were bent. In 2006, there was no increment of branches in 1.3 m height in 52%, 38%, 30% and 45% of trees on the north, east, south and west side of crown, respectively. This situation had no relation to winter damage to tree. Broken trees had significantly higher tree height than unbroken ones; mean h/d ratio did not significantly differ.

(cs)
