| Description
| - Očekávaná regenerace většiny lesních ekosystémů v České republice po odsíření hlavních elektráren je pomalá a problémy se zdravotním stavem budou pravděpodobně pokračovat. Současně jsou smrkové porosty pod vlivem imisí v podhorských a horských polohách vnadmořských výškách 500 x 800 m ohrožovány sněhem a v nadmořských výškách nad 800 m námrazou. Výchova smrkových porostů v těchto lokalitách je proto orientována na zvýšení odolnosti vůči imisím a také vůči ostatním škodlivým faktorům, především sněhu anámraze. Efekt výchovy byl studován v mladých smrkových porostech pod vlivem imisí na experimentální sérii Polom v Orlických horách (od roku 1980) a na sérii Kristiánov v Jizerských horách (od roku 1986). Experimenty jsou založeny na klasické srovnávacímetodě. Výsledky dlouhodobých experimentů potvrdily pozitivní efekt sledovaného výchovného programu na růst, zdravotní stav a statickou stabilitu smrkových porostů pod vlivem imisí v počátečných fázích rozpadu. - Expected regeneration of the majority of forest ecosystems of the Czech Republic after desulphurisation of the main heat power stations is slow and the problems with health condition of forest stands will probably continue. At the same time, air pollutedNorway spruce stands on hills and mountainous sites with elevation of 500 x 800 m are endangered by snow damage and by rime and frost deposits. Proper thinning treatments are expected to increase the resistance to air pollution as well as resistance toother relevant stresses. The expected survival of the experimental stands at the beginning of the experiments was 40 years. The thinning experiments are based on classical comparative method, i.e. on comparing the stands with different thinning regimes.Results of the long-term experiment confirmed the positive effect of investigated thinning programs on growth, health conditions and resistance to snow-break of air-polluted Norway spruce stands in initial phases of disintegration.
