  • Study evaluates growth and development of experimental mixed beech and spruce stands four years after first different thinnings. According to number of trees: on control plot 1 and on plot 2 (thinning from above) beech portion has been increasing and spruce portion decreasing continually and on plot 3 (thinning from below), beech and spruce portions are nearly balanced. According to basal area: on control plot 1 and on plot 3 beech portion has been increasing and spruce portion decreasing continually and on plot 2 ratio is practically unchanged. In connection with effect of thinning on stand microclimate, amount of dry biomass and nutrient content of biomass from holorganic horizons (L, F and H) has been investigated since 2003. The preliminary results showed, that about 128 thousand kg of dry biomass per hectare is collected in holorganic horizons (L – 5.5 thousand kg.ha-1, F – 18 thousand kg.ha-1, H - 104 thousand kg.ha-1) under investigated 25 years old spruce and beech mixed stand.

  • Práce hodnotí růst a vývoj smíšených porostů smrku a buku 4 roky po provedení prvních výchovných zásahů. Zastoupení buku podle počtu stromů na kontrolní ploše 1 a na ploše 2 (úrovňová výchova) stoupalo a zastoupení smrku průběžně klesalo, na ploše 3 (podúrovňová výchova) zůstaly počty buku a smrku vyrovnané. Posuzováno podle výčetní základny: kontrolní plocha 1 a plocha 3 vykázaly stoupající podíl buku a klesající podíl smrku, na ploše 2 zůstala relace mezi bukem a smrkem téměř nezměněna. V souvislosti s vlivem výchovy na stanovištní mikroklima je od roku 2003 sledován objem sušiny a obsah živin v holorganických horizontech (L, F, H). Úvodní výsledky ukázaly, že pod 25letým smíšeným porostem smrku a buku bylo akumulováno 128 tun sušiny na hektar v holorganických horizontech (L – 5,5 tun sušiny na hektar, F – 18 tun sušiny na hektar, H – 104 tun na hektar).
