Description	Advancements in digital signal recording and processing have made it possible to use even lightweight low-cost instrumentation for accurate recording and subsequent evaluation of noise in many applications. The authors would like to share their experience with using such contemporary low-cost instrumentation even for accurate measuring, evaluating, and comparing noise in propeller aircraft. Shown are examples of calibrated low-cost noise recordings and their evaluation using contemporary advanced signal processing tools. In conclusions discussed are achievable accuracy, advantages and possible drawbacks of the proposed ways of measuring, evaluation and monitoring noise in propeller aircraft also in comparison with methods and instrumentation according to the relevant standards.
