| - This paper represents the specific part of our research focused on marketing and management in health care. The research aims to an analysis of health care in Bata Company before 1945. The goal of the research is to determine principles applied in health care about employees at Bata Company and health care about residents of Zlin. A pilot survey indicated that health education and health care done Bata Company greatly imrpoved health status of the population in the region. Since the occupational therapy is currently one of the most discussed issues, we perceive this research as a significant added value to the current business environment. The task of our partial research was to focus on occupational therapy in Bata Company before 1945, to define basic principles and to applie determined principles in the current business environment. The goal of the application is increasing interest in occupational medicine in companies. The Bata Management System can be perceived as much discussed business philosophy nowadays. The reason is that Tomas Bata the founder (1876 – 1932) transformed small trade into worldwide enterprise in just 20 years. The objective of the research is to point out that Tomas Bata was not developing manufacture processes of his company only, but employees` care including occupational therapy too.
