| - Extracellular pyranose dehydrogenase purified from laboratory mycelial liquid cultures of the basidiomycete Agaricus xanthoderma was characterized as a monomeric glycoprotein consisting of 575 amino acids with covalently bound FAD and native molecular mass of 65.4 kDa. This enzyme oxidized to the corresponding didehydroaldoses preferentially mono- and oligo-saccharides constituting hemicelluloses (D-glucose, D-galactose, D-xylose, L-arabinose, cellobiose). It may, therefore, play a role in biodegradation of wood by the fungus

Enzym přednostně oxidoval mono- a oligo-sacharidy představující složky lignocelulos (D-glukosa, D-galaktosa, D-xylosa, L-arabinosa, celobiosa). Reakční produkty byly spektroskopicky identifikovány jako příslušné didehydroaldosy. Předpokládá se, že houba tento enzym uplatňuje při biodegradaci dřevního substrátu (cs)
