Description
| - Altogether 7,879 specimens of the family Syrphidae representing 122 species were found by means of three collecting methods in three selected peat-bogs in the Šumava Mts (Rokytecká peat-bog, 4,780 specimens / 93 species, Zhůřské peat-bogs, 1,380 / 78, and Novohůrecká peat-bog, 1,719 / 93) situated at different altitudes (from 880 to 1,170 m a.s.l.). Three collecting methods are compared: yellow pan water traps (3,154 specimens / 96 species), sweeping (613 / 32) and Malaise traps (4,112 / 84). Only one species (Sphaerophoria scripta) was eudominant, further three species (Episyrphus balteatus, Neoascia tenur, Platycheirus clypeatus) were dominant. Syrphid communities in all localities are compared by means of a number of species, species richness, species diversity and species equitability indices, and coefficients of similarity.
