The main aim was comparison of some measures of shape complexity based on the concept of fractal dimension and Fourier shape analysis with traditional measures. The fractal dimension was computed for polar representation from variogram. The simulation of shapes for comparison of individual measures is based on the elliptical family of cross sections.
