Description
  • The thesis deals with the parish Assumption church in Valtice from 1629-71. Its architect was Giovanni Giacomo Tenacalla and was its provading builder bevore the church dome collapsed 1638. The church was a prestigous building for the Liechtensteins. The family members hold the architecture for the most important element of their social representation. The church of Valtice is similar to the dominican church of Vienna, build after a project of Tencalla as well. Both churches were a reaction to the up to date development of the barocque architecture in Roma . (en)
  • Der Aufsatz beschäftigt sich mit der Pfarr- und Schlosskirche in Feldsberg aus den Jahren 1629-1671 und mit ihrem Architekten Giovanni Giacomo Tencalla, der bis zum Kuppelsturz von 1638 den Bau auch leitetet. Der Kirchenbau war ein Prestigebauunternehmen der Familie Liechtestein, für deren Mitglieder die Architektur ein wichtiges Element der Standesrepräsentation war. Die Feldsberger Kirche ist typologisch mit der Wiener Dominikanerkirche von Tencalla verwandt. Beide Kirchenbauten reagierten in der Disposition und in der Fassadengestaltung an die aktuellen Impulze der römischen Architektur.
