Description
  • The Battle of 1040 which is well-known part of the Czech history is the topic of a number of texts in the Chamer Reports. The present paper includes the description of the Battle of 1040 as it can be found in Latin Paris manuscript from the 14th century that was published in Prague in 2006. The pictures in this fragment do not show any real landscapes. Therefore, the Bohemian Forest is not presented in a realistic way; on the contrary the depiction corresponds with the conventions of the artistic presentation after 1300. The text should enrich our knowledge of German-Czech relationships during the Middle Ages. (en)
  • Die in der tschechischen Geschichte bekannte Schlacht von 1040 ist Thema einer Reihe von Beiträgen in den Chamer Bänden. Die vorliegenden Ausführungen befassen sich mit der Darstellung der Schlacht von 1040 in einer lateinischen Pariser Handschrift aus dem 14. Jh, die im Jahre 2006 in Prag herausgegeben wurde. Die Bilder dieses Fragments bieten keine realistischen Landschaften. Das bedeutet, dass auf ihnen nicht der Böhmerwald der Realität präsentiert wird, sondern eine Region entsprechend der Art und Weise des künstlerischen Darstellens nach 1300. Der Beitrag stellt eine Bereicherung unseres Wissens über die deutsch-tschechischen Beziehungen im Mittelalter dar.
