Description
| - The subject is research of modern forms of solids that offer or promise practical use - e.g. light emitting nanostructures, scintillation materials, silicon or diamond thin films, magnetic materials possessing extreme physical properties and materials with aperiodic structure. Advanced technologies, unique experimental methods, microphysical theoretical models and ab-initio calculations will be combined. Studied materials and goals are: a) Silicon - growth of thin microcrystallic films, definition of structure with nanometer resolution, its effect for transport and optical properties, utilisation for photovoltaic cells. b) A3B5 type semiconductors - quantum effects at heterostructures, superlattices and nanostructures, bringing principal innovations in microelectronics. c) oxides and metal compounds of rare earth and transitive elements - effects with extremely strong response to external condition changes at magnetic multilayers and nanosegregated materials. - Předmětem je badatelský výzkum moderních forem pevných látek, které již mají nebo slibují praktické využití, jako například světloemitující nanostruktury, scintilační materiály, tenké vrstvy křemíku a diamantu, magnetické látky vykazující extrémní fyzikální vlastnosti a látky s aperiodickou strukturou. Metodicky budou propojeny pokročilé technologie, unikátní experimentální metody, mikrofyzikální teoretické modely a ab initio výpočty. Studované materiály a cíle VZ: a) křemík - růst tenkých, např. mikrokrystalických vrstev, určení struktury s nanometrickým rozlišením, vliv na transportní a optické vlastnosti, využití ve fotovoltaických článcích. b) polovodiče na bázi AIIIBV prvků - kvantové jevy na heterostrukturách, supermřížkách a nanostrukturách, které přinášejí zásadní inovace v mikroelektronice. c) oxidy a kovové sloučeniny vzácných zemin a transitivů - jevy vykazující mimořádně silnou odezvu na změnu vnějších podmínek na magnetických multivrstvách a nanosegregovaných materiálech.

| - V rámci výzkumného záměru bylo dosaženo významného pokroku v technologii přípravy křemíkových a diamantových nanostruktur, kvantových teček a feromagnetických materiálů vhodných pro spintroniku a biomedicínské aplikace. Kvalitativní skok zaznamenaly, spolu s navazující teorií, AF-mikroskopie, strukturní analýza, pokročilé optické metody a nízkoteplotní magnetotransport. (cs)
- In the frame of research plan a significant progress in the technology of silicon and diamond nanostructures, quantum dots and ferromagnetic materials for spintronics and biomedicine was achieved. Qualitative jump in the AF-microscopy, structural analysis, advanced optical methods and low-temperature mangetotransport together with the underlying theory has appeared. (en)
