Description
| - This article describes application of the so-called %22Boundary line analysis method%22. This method is used to determine the optimal number of tractors owned in an agricultural company by assessing the minimal costs for the tractors' operation. A graph of total annual costs puts together data gained from observation of real usage of tractors in crop production during the year. The assessment of an optimal number of tractors is based on the calculation of operation costs of the owned as well as loaned tractors. To find out the optimal number of tractors owned, it is necessary to reach the minimum of total costs of all technological operations on all fields of the farm. This article works with the results from the analysis made in CULS Farm Estate in Lány. It presents some model solutions, describes the influence of changes of each variable on total costs, and shows how to determine the optimal number of tractors on a farm.
