Description	The depository of the Museum of Decorative Arts contains a collection, unique in this country, of patterns coming from the time when the Museum was founded and from the years of the 19th century that followed. These morphological samplers were losing their significance in the 20th century. It was deemed that the modern times bringing a new modus vivendi would not need historicist samplers. The point therefore is that the precious documents of the past should be not just preserved but also made again accessible as study material providing new sources of inspiration. This means to carry out first of all a systematic registration and documentation of the collection, to perform the most needed restoring adjustments and, later on, to classify all individual items. The patterns will thus be ready to be used by experts as well as by the general public in the Museum´s library. As a second stage, after the above collection of patterns is compared with the collection of photo patterns and ornamental engravings. (en) V depozitáři UPM je přechovávána u nás ojedinělá sbírka předloh, pocházejících z doby založení muzea a doplňovaná v následujících letech 19. století. Tyto morfologické vzorníky ztrácely ve 20. století na významu. V současnosti však hlubší poznání slohů a stylů nabývá opět na významu, zejména v novodobých souvislostech. Jde tedy o to cenné doklady minulosti nejen uchovat, ale také znovu zpřístupnit jako studijní materiál pro nové inspirace. Znamená to především provést systematickou evidenci a dokumentaci sbírky, uskutečnit nejnutnější restaurátorské úpravy a následnou katalogizaci. Předlohy tak budou připraveny k využití odbornou i širší veřejností v musejní knihovně. Druhoplánově se počítá se zpracováním výsledků srovnánacího průzkumu uvedené sbírky předloh se sbírkou ornamentálních rytin a fotografických předloh.
