Therapy of infectious diseases of animals by antimicrobial agents could lead to the selection of resistant microorganisms. Therefore, the antimicrobial policy should be reevaluated to make therapy of infectious diseases of animals successful and to restrict spread of antimicrobial resistance (either directly by resistant microorganisms or indirectly by genetic determinants of resistance). Rapid detection of critical types of antimicrobial resistance, which cause therapeutic failure in humans and animals, and detection of potential sources of such the resistance is very important. Suggested project should provide a few results. As first, it is a knowledge regarding occurrence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci, methicillin-resistant staphylococci, macrolid-lincosamid-streptogramin resistance in staphylococci and enterococci, and resistance to extended-spectrum beta-lactams (ESBL-resistance) in Enterobacteriaceae. Distribution of such the resistance will be monitored in specific pathogens as well as i (en)

V rámci projektu byly vyvinuty diagnostické nástroje usnadňující detekci určitých typů nebezpečné rezistence a to jak na fenotypové tak na genotypové úrovni. Věcné i časové řešení projektu probíhalo v souladu s plánem. (cs)
