Description
  • Phosphorus is the essential nutrient of enormous importance to satisfy the food production for rising up world population. P-resources of the Earth for an economical production P-fertilizers are limited only for several decades of years. Any unproductive losses of phosphorus from agricultural soils have a negative environmental impact on the quality of waters. So the actual task of this time is improvement efficiency use of soil reserve and P-fertilizers, and recycling P in agriculture. Soil testing should be a very useful tool to realize more P-efficient use. But the present agronomic categorisation of P-soil reserve by soil tests emphases only agronomics aspects of out day former intensification. The upper limit values, and their necessity for high yields, have not been proved appropriately and experimentally either from the aspect of maximum utilisation P for crop production or in to the possible transport of soluble P from soil through water runoff leaving agricultural lands.
